Call of Duty 2017 will go 'back to its roots,' apparently
If you've been hankering for the old days of Call of Duty, then 2017 might finally be your year. Maybe. Because Activision has dropped the first actual information relating to this year's COD release on its latest earnings call.
Perhaps more importantly though is this quote from Activision during the call:
"In 2017, Activision will take Call of Duty back to its roots, and traditional combat will once again take center stage. This is what our dedicated community of Call of Duty players and Sledgehammer Games, developing this year's title, are the most excited about."
That would seem to suggest that jet packs are out and boots on the ground is back in. But then this is also Activision, so we'll hold final judgment for now. Nevertheless, for those who yearn for a return to the days of Modern Warfare and before, 2017 might just make you happy again.
