Google Beats Apple, Tops The Most Popular Brand Chart In 2017

Beating Apple, Google has become the world’s most credible brand of the year. Apple has been at the top consistently since 2011. Google’s brand value has significantly risen from last year.
As per the report of Brand Finance, Google’s brand value is worth $109.4 billion in 2017. Last year, its brand value was $88.2 billion only. Google has also witnessed a 24 per cent growth. Google’s revenue from ads has also witnessed a 20 per cent growth from last year.
After launching iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, Apple has seen a considerable decline. Its brand value has dropped from $145.9 billion to $107.1 billion.

“Apple has over-exploited the goodwill of its customers, it has failed to generate significant revenues from newer products such as the Apple Watch and cannot demonstrate that genuinely innovative technologies desired by consumers are in the pipeline. Its brand has lost its luster and must now compete on an increasingly level playing field not just with traditional rival Samsung, but a slew of Chinese brands such as Huawei and OnePlus in the smartphone market, Apple’s key source of profitability,” said David Haigh, CEO of Brand Finance.

With Google on top and Apple occupying the second position, the third is bagged by the Amazon. Amazon’s brand value is worth $106.4 billion. Fourth and fifth position is grabbed by AT&T; and Microsoft respectively. Facebook stands at ninth position with it’s brand value worth $ 61,998 million.
