New Rs 100 Notes Soon: Reserve Bank of India
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will start the circulation new Rs 100 banknotes very soon as per the recent notification from the central bank. The new notes will be quite similar to the design of Mahatma Gandhi Series-2005 bank notes.
The RBI said that it very issue new Rs 100 denomination banknotes in the ongoing Mahatma Gandhi Series-2005. The upgraded note will have an inset letter R in both the number panels. The notes will also have the signature of the current RBI Governor Dr Urjit R Patel. The year 2017 will also be printed on the back-side of the banknote.
The new note will have ascending size of numerals in the number panels, bleed lines, and enlarged identification mark on the obverse as upgraded features. The RBI also mentioned that the current notes will valid even after circulation of new notes.
