Sonu Sood Will Be Playing A Modern Arjuna In Naganna’s Kannada Movie

Sonu Sood made his debut in Kannada films with the movie Vishnuvardhana which got released in 2011. Sonu Sood will be playing the pivotal character of Arjuna from the Mahabharata in a Kannada film titled Kurukshetra. This film is a modern day version. It’s not a mythological look but the period is that. It’s a newer version for the younger generation to enjoy.
He says, “You won’t see me ranting the typical age-old mythological dialogues, nor will you see me in the quintessential loud costumes. Kurukshetra has all the ingredients of a period drama. It is a 3D film and has a modern day touch. Having said that, just like Arjuna, you will see me doing the war sequences with bow and arrow.”
Ask Sonu, how much is he aware of Arjuna and how much he can relate to it and he says, “I have heard stories about him from my mother and also read about him in books. I can relate to him as just like Arjuna I am very much focused.”
Sonu has been shooting for the film since last week at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad, and will continue until the end of September. The film will be a retelling of the Mahabharata from the point of view of the Kauravas and as per Sonu, the project is one of the costliest films made in the history of Indian cinema.
