Way cleared to fill vacancies in Transco, Discoms

New Delhi: A Bench of the Apex Court here on Thursday consisting of Justice Madan B Lokur and Justice Deepak Mishra cleared the way for filling the 239 vacancies of Transco and Telangana Discoms. Dismissing the order of the High Court of Judicature in this regard, the Bench held that the vacancies should be filled as per the merit list of the results announced earlier.
Examination was held for 600 assistant engineer vacancies in 2015 and 239 vacancies still remain out of these. Some aspirants had approached the High Court for and against the merit list based recruitment which led to the High Court ruling that a fresh test be conducted.
In view of the above, the Bench said it was allowing the appeals while setting aside the judgments of the Division Bench and learned Single Judge of the High Court and consequently dismissed the writ petitions and ordered filling up of the vacancies
